2008- “People of Heartfelt Worship”

John 4:23 – “...A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”

“I envision a church that is a disciple-making worship center and house of prayer for all people. I picture
a place where all will experience the very presence of God in the Word, in the music, and in the people.
I see a group of faith-filled people praying for one another, the community, the nation and the world. I
see an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit begins to do amazing things, releasing people from bondage,
healing the broken-hearted, and making people whole in every way.

“I envision a church that’s an exciting, enjoyable, energizing opportunity for the people in this neighbor-
hood to be mentored in biblical family values and to enrich their marriages through transforming classes
and TLC (tender loving care) groups.

“I envision a church that is a community resource center for overcoming the spiritual, physical, mental,
emotional, legal and financial hurdles of life. I see people who have already struggled in these areas volun-
tarily reaching out to others in wisdom, love and warmth. I see a people reaching out and helping the poor
by not only giving them a fish, but teaching them how to fish.

“I envision a church that is a model of how people from many different racial and ethnic backgrounds can
not only “get along” but can move forward together in Jesus Christ and help ease the tension in the
 neighborhood.

“I envision a church where all generations respect and help each other. I see grandmothers teaching mothers.
I see mothers and fathers nurturing their children and loving each other. I see a church where young people
experience real love and God’s exciting plan for them. I see a church where older men pass on pearls of
wisdom from the Word and from their experiences. I see a church where men and women show younger
people how to become more Christ-like.

“I envision a church where singles find an accepting family and divorcees find healing and hope. I see a
church where children from broken or dysfunctional homes find loving mentors to take them under their
wing. I picture a place where widows and widowers find a port in the storm of loneliness.”
